In collaboration with Dr. Jen Lacy from PH Community School we are excited to offer three interactive teach-ins leading up to our second Peace Parade!*

Teach-in #2: The Right to be You!

Saturday, July 5th from 9:30-11:00am

Location: PH Coffee (2200 Lexington Ave, Kansas City, MO 64124)

Ages: 8-12.

Participants will learn queer liberation history and the role of leaders like Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P Johnson in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights and equality. Children will explore the importance of self-expression and will use art supplies to decorate t-shirts that express and celebrate their unique selves.

**Bring a blank tshirt to decorate, if you have one! If not, we’ll have some on hand! Children can wear their t-shirt on parade day!

Notes: Parents need to stay at the location, but parents can drop child(ren) off in the adjacent social gallery and enjoy coffee/brunch on the coffee shop side.Parents of younger children can participate with them. PH Coffee does have a play area for young children (ages 2 and up).

*Save the Parade Date: July 27th at 10am!
